April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her love for music writing. April Lockhart composed her debut song, Different, at age 12 years old. She spent a lot of the time of 14 writing songs and playing. The songwriting began with her dad and her dad in NY and LA just a few months later. April began also to incorporate other related topics for some of her friends dealing with things like problems with peer pressure, and teenager suicide, as in the song Take my Hand. Lockhart has her own fanbase and works as a lifestyle blogger under the renowned Ilia clean beauty brand. She was born without a left hand. This gives her a unique look. But this isn't the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on her account on Instagram, but she doesn't make it the focus of the account. The message? The message? We have many different aspects, that the identities we have and our physical bodies don't always reflect what they seem. I do not want this to determine me. I do not want to be a disability influencer who only talks about, because there are different aspects to me Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. And it doesn't affect my everyday life. I go about all the things I normally do and I've developed my own way to adjust circumstances. It's a huge element of my life so it is important that we talk about it. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart is a true inspiration on that front. She admits that she has been through times when she felt insecure about the way she dressed and revealed her arms. She wears what she likes and posts photos of herself wearing the clothes she wears on social media. Self-love, she says, is a kind of journey. "I don't think you'll ever get in that place," she said. The same is true for everybody regardless of their degree of self-confidence. It's important to have people that know and appreciate you. They'll help you remind yourself that you're anxious about.
