Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant is the vice president. Cheney was a familiar name on the Washington political scene. George W. Bush would be his Fourth U.S. President. Bush chose Cheney during the summer of 2000 to be his vice-presidential running partner, being impressed by Cheney's intelligence and judgement. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the nation in various roles. Both Republicans as well as Democrats admire him for his honesty and integrity. Cheney claims he's an honest and discreet adviser for Bush during his presidency. Cheney was the first to accept the Republican Vice Presidential election in 2007, stated that he was looking forward to being under a President who can work across political lines and collaborate with rival political parties by fostering goodwill and working towards a common objective. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born January 30, 1941 within Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13 Richard and his family relocated across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper which was where his dad worked as Director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture local district for soil conservation.
